Hi,
I haven't posted a story in a while so I thought I'd just provide an update. Pictures of the condo we are purchasing are in the gallery-it is in escrow now but we must wait until the sellers buy a home. It may be premature to show pictures, because there are a lot of technicalities yet to sort out. You may notice a lot of contents that don't look like ours-so picture a lot of purple in it instead (not too much though-I'm letting go of some of that obsession!). When we first saw the condo, we met the owners who gave us some lovely fragrant tube rose which was a nice touch as it was our anniversary. Well, we're crossing our fingers!
Summer has been fun-filled. Josh has been deejaying a lot, and got to deejay a high profile event at Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach for a jewelry designer. I am loving my job teaching music to older adults and am growing very attached to them. I've learned a lot of music that I had never explored before.
We had an excellent time in Minnesota recently for Carson and Brian's wedding-congratulations and thanks for asking me to be your singer; and thanks Mom and Dad for showing us around!
We're looking forward to a yard sale with our good friends Lenny and Carrie, at their cool house in Redondo Beach. And we can't wait for our next visitors out here in sunny California!

Varekai

Nicole and I went to our first Cirque de Soleil event called Varekai at the OC Fairgrounds on Friday.    I think the tickets are a little on the steep side but after watching the show, everyone one of the performers deserve that money.    Combination of amazing visuals, beautiful music, exotic and amazing costumes, and record-setting performances make it a night to remember.

Government's Golden Fleece Retirement Issue

Received this from Brent.   Pretty interesting of course but who knows the truth.

This is worth the read. It's short and to the point.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the federal government to "put away," you may be interested in the following:

Pass this on please!

Our First Earthquake experience

When the 6.5 San Simeon earthquake occured, both Nicole and I were at work. Seems like everyone around us immediately felt it and were freaking out. I was working at my computer when it happened. I was completely clueless that it was happening. I guess I was concentrating too hard to realize that the window blinds were swaying back and forth about 5-6 inches. After it happened, everyone got up and starting talking about it. I was asking what they were referring to and then it hit me. I just experienced my first earthquake of decent scale.

Thanksgiving and More

We had another great Thanksgiving with family-one more year will make it a tradition! Thanks Mom and Dad Lee, and Wade for making the trip. The ladies had the task of cooking an 8-dish meal or so, while the men played ball. But from the moans and groans it sounded like the men had equal the challenge. Josh made his first pumpkin pie to carry out the Glasser family tradition. Mighty tasty! Our other highlights included Karaoke night at the Martini Blues lounge with Wade, and 4 hours of hiking at Joshua Tree with Mom and Dad. They are hard core. We spent an afternoon on Rodeo Drive and later indulged in tasty seafood-cajun style. There are some photo highlights in the gallery. Can't wait until next year!

Cubs suck

Ok. I'm getting really tired of the Cubs choking. Don't put any blame on the fan that caught the foul ball either! There were about 4 or 5 people trying to catch it as well. Don't forget that Gonzalez did make a big freakin' boo-boo that made the situation worse in Game 6. Mitch says he's no longer a Cubs fan. I don't blame him. Maybe next year. I'm not waiting up. I'll be rooting but I'm not gonna actively follow the series anymore unless they actually GO to the World Series.
